Last Of The Posts

This is Bad Wolf PR's 409th post to date and I'm afraid to say it is its last because this site is to be closed down. The reason is basically because of the lack of time i have to run this blog or any blogs anymore. Bad Wolf PR was founded on the 13th February 2007 when i had a mad idea of starting a Doctor Who Blog which would update you on the latest Doctor Who News. During the early days i was often informed with news by Mark who now runs a brilliant blog called Tardis And Torchwood Treasures. As times went on i met a person called Rob who has helped with news and features for this blog which has been most helpful. Rob runs many blogs including Life On Mars.TV and Ashes To Ashes.TV. As for me i will still be around and about as i will continue to make Music Videos which can all be found on my You Tube Channel Here as well as chatting to anyone who wishes to speak to me. So i guess now its goodbye for me and blogging but could i thank every single visitor to this site and helper you've all been absolutely fantastic.

April Book Covers

The covers for the three Doctor Who BBC Books, due for release on the 14th April 2008, have now been revealed. The titles of these three books are Martha In The Mirror, Snowglobe 7 and The Many Hands. The covers and a short description of each book can be seen below.

Snowglobe 7 by Mike Tucker Earth, 2099. Global warming is devastating the climate. The polar ice caps are melting. In a desperate attempt at preservation the Governments of the world have removed vast sections of the Arctic and Antarctic and set them inside huge domes across the world. The Doctor and Martha arrive in Snowglobe 7 in the Middle East, hoping for peace and relaxation. But they soon discover that it’s not only ice and snow that has been preserved beneath the Dome. While Martha struggles to help with an infection sweeping through the holidaymakers the Doctor discovers an alien threat that has lain hidden since the last ice age. A threat that is starting to thaw.

The Many Hands by Dale Smith Edinburgh, 1759. The Nor' Loch is being filled in. If you ask the soldiers there, they'll tell you it's a stinking cesspool that the city can do without. But that doesn't explain why the workers won't go near the place without an armed guard. That doesn't explain why they whisper stories about the loch giving up its dead, about the minister who walked into his church twelve years after he died… It doesn’t explain why, as they work, they whisper about a man called the Doctor. And about the many hands of Alexander Monro.

Which Part Did You Prefer From Revenge Of The Slitheen?

Over the last 6 days Bad Wolf PR has been asking visitors Which Part Did You Prefer From Revenge Of The Slitheen? Well after 21 votes Part 2 is the winner so well done to Part 2. Part 2 received 16 votes and 76% of the total votes. Part 1 however managed to get 5 votes and 23%. Thanks to everyone that took their time to vote.

Eye Of The Gorgon Overnight Ratings

Some Unofficial overnight ratings for the two episodes of The Sarah Jane Advenutes have now been posted by The Doctor Who Site. Eye Of The Gorgon Part 1 which was shown on BBC 1 at 5.00pm last night was watched by 1.1 million people with a 10.1% share of the total audience. Eye Of The Gorgon Part 2, which was also on last night but shown on the CBBC Channel at 5.30pm, was watched by 0.24 million people with a 15.3% share of the total audience. Eye Of The Gorgon Part 2 will be repeated next Monday on BBC 1 where it is expected to receive a higher audience.

Series 4 Rumours

The Daily Star today has reported upon a major end-of-season showdown for the Doctor and companions versus an old adversary. This report also ties together some other rumours that have been around recently about Series 4 of Doctor Who. This rumour can be seen by highlighting below but of course at the moment this is just a rumour and it is not true until the BBC confirms it.

DOCTOR Who bosses are set to call back FOUR of the Time Lord’s favourite assistants – including Billie Piper – for a sensational showdown. The old cast members will be reunited to help the Doc fight evil Dalek creator Davros in an explosive finale to the next series.Leading the way in the line-up will be Billie (Piper) as Rose Tyler along with the rest of the Tyler family; they will hook up with the Tardis traveller’s latest assistants Martha Jones and Donna Noble. Also on hand to help out the Doc will be his old companion Sarah Jane Smith as well as Torchwood boss Captain Jack Harkness. Even the Time Lord’s dog K-9 will make an appearance. The TV source said: "This is the daddy of all shows. The writer Russell T Davies really wants to pull out all the stops for the finale next year."

Third Dimension: the Unauthorized Guide to Doctor Who 2007

Telos Publishing has now released the cover for the book Third Dimension: the Unauthorized Guide to Doctor Who 2007 by Stephen James Walker. This book will be available as a Hardback along with a Paperback edition. This book is expected to be released in November.

'The book has been, as usual, complex to prepare,' said Telos' David J Howe. 'As well as the text, which Stephen James Walker has painstakingly prepared, we have an 8 page colour photographic section as well. Therefore the availability date has slipped slightly from October to November. We're confident that the title will be as warmly welcomed as the first two books looking at the new series of Doctor Who.'

Calling The Shots Signings

Graeme Harper who has directed both new and classic Doctor Who is soon to be making two in store appearances this weekend to sign copies of his latest book called Calling the Shots. This book is partly a production, part memoir, and also brings a unique insight into the making of the episodes Rise of the Cybermen, The Age of Steel, Army of Ghosts, Doomsday, 42 and Utopia. This book is published by Reynolds & Hearn and is priced at £14.99. This book also includes previously unseen photographs.

Doctor Who Movie Rumours

Rumours are currently going around the media about a New Doctor Who Movie. Billie Piper has also been rumoured to return as Rose Tyler for the movie. A Source apparently told the Daily Star "It's all been hushed up ... but yes, it's definitely happening, David and Billie were a superb combination on the small screen, so it seems only right that they appear in the film." These reports are coming out after a statement made by BBC Head of Fiction Jane Tranter who recently told Media Guardian that she is keeping the possibility of a Doctor Who film open as quoted as saying "I would not rule out a film version of Doctor Who, no." Of course this is just a rumour at the moment but Bad Wolf PR will report further on this issue when we can.

Gorgon Next Time Trailers

Last Monday saw yet again two different Sarah Jane Adventures episodes air. The episodes shown were Revenge Of The Slitheen Part 2 which was shown on BBC 1 at 5.00pm and Eye Of The Gorgon Part 1 which was shown on the CBBC Channel at 5.30pm. In both of these episodes a Next Time Trailer was shown one for The Eye Of The Gorgon Part 1 and one for The Eye Of The Gorgon Part 2. These particular trailers can be seen below.

400th Post

Bad Wolf PR has now officially reached 400 posts. I'd just to once again take the time to thank every single visitor and helper to this site it is very much appreciated. As its our 400th Post Ive actually held off until now posting this. This what i am referring to is my new fan made video which uses clips from The Sarah Jane Adventures episode Revenge Of The Slitheen. The song is called Monster by Automatics and the video is called Revenge Of The Slitheen Monster. This video can be seen below. Once again could i thank you all you've been brilliant.

Doctor Who Magazine 388

The latest Doctor Who Magazine cover has now been released by Doctor Who Magazine's Facebook group. The latest issue will feature a exclusive interview with Elisabeth Sladen who plays Sarah Jane Smith in the Doctor Who spin-off The Sarah Jane Adventures. There is also a celebration for K9 and his 30th birthday. The cover also says about the Sontarens which of course as posted earlier on Bad Wolf PR will be returning to Doctor Who for Series 4. The cover can be seen below. More information on what else will be in this magazine will be posted when we hear it. Doctor Who Magazine 388 will be out October 18th priced at £3.99.

Sontarans Return

Christopher Ryan is set to appear in Series 4 of Doctor Who. He is best known for playing the character Mike in the classic comedy series The Young Ones. Christopher is actually set to appear as a Sontaran leader which is due to be filming in the next few weeks.

"I'm absolutely delighted to be appearing in this new Doctor Who," Chris revealed. "The last time I appeared in Doctor Who was in 1986, Colin Baker was the Doctor and I was still a Young One."

If you did not know already the Sontarans are a famous monster from the classic series of Doctor Who. They first appeared in the episode The Time Warrior which ironically was Sarah Jane Smiths first story who was played by Elizabeth Sladen. Also last night if you were lucky enough to see Eye Of The Gorgon Part 1 on the CBBC channel the Sontarans were also mentioned.

More Sarah Jane Audios

The BBC has now commisioned two new Sarah Jane Adventures Audio Books. These storys are set for release on the 5th November priced at £5.99 each. These two storys are called The Glittering Storm and The Thirteenth Stone and are to be read by Elizabeth Sladen. Here is what the Official Doctor Who Website had to say:

This is the first time that BBC Audiobooks have commissioned new content for exclusive release on audio. When patients at a London clinic begin to act strangely, Sarah Jane's suspicions are aroused. Revenge Of The Slitheen Review

Revenge Of The Slitheen see's the first series of The Sarah Jane Adventures finally kick off. We begin with Maria and Luke starting their new school though not is all as it seems. The food is moldy, the teachers keep farting and theirs a strange smell of batteries in the new I.T building. This of course means only one thing, the Slitheen are back who were last seen in Series 1 of Doctor Who. As Maria and Luke set off to investigate the new I.T building they are joined by Clyde Langer. At the climax of part 1 we see Maria and Clyde trapped in a room a Child of the Slitheen who proves certainly to be in the mood for a hunt in part 2. In part 2 we find out that The Slitheen are to switch off The Sun but not if Sarah and the gang can help it. The story eventually ends in a Luke destroying the Slitheens machine and forcing some of the family to escape. Some of the family however are not so lucky and are killed. Overall i would give this episode a 8/10 as i thought the story was brilliant as was the Slitheen child and the Slitheen family. I also thought the performance of Thomas Knight, who plays Luke Smith, was fantastic.

Soundtrack Volume 2 Cover And Release Date

The second CD of Murray Gold's incidental music is to be released so therefore the cover and the release date have begun to appear on a number of retail sites. According to HMV this CD will be out on the 5th November and will feature music from the third series of Doctor Who. The cover for this CD can also be seen below.

The Mill Showcase

The Mill who are the new series FX team have released their new show reel which consists of mainly Doctor Who, Torchwood and The Sarah Jane Adventures effects work. The showcase also includes a number of tracks that are to be released on Murray Gold's forthcoming Doctor Who Series Three Soundtrack CD which will be released later this year. Favourite Master Results

For nine days Bad Wolf PR asked viewers to decide Who Is Your Favourite Actor To Have Played The Master? After 28 votes the winner was the latest incarnation himself John Simm. John got 17 votes and 60% of the overall votes. In second place was Derek Jacobi with 4 votes and 14%.In third place was Roger Delgado and Anthony Ainley with 3 votes and 10%. In fourth was Geoffrey Beevers with 1 vote and 3%. Finally came Peter Pratt and Eric Roberts with 0 votes. Look out for the next poll which will be up in a couple of days.

Inside The Series 3 Box-Set

Thanks to Amazon.co.uk we can now see what the series 3 box-sets will look like inside. The normal box-set will include discs with The Doctor (David Tennant), The Master (John Simm), Dalek Sec, Martha Jones (Freema Agyeman) and Captain Jack Harkness (John Barrowman) on them. The Amazon Series 3 inside is very similar apart from the leaflet that comes with it has The Doctor And Martha on instead of The Doctor and The Master. The two insides can be seen below.

Davros Collection Cover Reverse

A couple Of days ago Bad Wolf PR reported the full details that will be included in the Davros box-set as well as showing its cover. Well now thanks to the Official Doctor Who Website we can see the reverse side of the cover. The reverse sides cover is very similar but this time it features Terry Molloy's Davros and also in the background you can see Renegade Daleks and Imperial Daleks. K9 And Company DVD Release

The Classic Doctor Who Spin-Off is due for release in 2008 but no exact release date has been announced yet. This spin-off was called K9 And Company which only released one episode which was its pilot called A Girl's Best Friend. Here is what Phoenix Film and Television Production Ltd had to say:

Phoenix Film and Television have been commissioned to produce several special feature documentaries for classic Doctor Who releases plus the long awaited "K9 and Company" all for DVD release later this year and early next year respectively. The content of the extras must remain under wraps for the moment but Phoenix will be producing 9 documentaries in total spanning several releases throughout 2007 and 2008. "It is a very exciting project!" explains Phoenix head of Production Rohan Latchman, "It's an opportunity to really delve into such a classic TV classic and try and come up with something different." "The new show is so high end and full of spectacular special effects, but classic Doctor Who offered all in involved so many challenges on a weekly basis to keep the show fresh and inventive and I'm really looking forward to being involved in such an exciting project!".
