Doctor Who Wins Programme Of The Year

Doctor Who has won Programme Of The Year at this years Edinburgh TV Festival. The winner for this was chosen by 200 young people who were invited to the festival as a way showcasing the next generation of TV talent. Phil Collinson (Doctor Who Producer) paid tribute to them young people by saying to receive the award "from young people coming into this industry is a particular honour". As well as praising these young people he also praised the BBC by saying without it "Doctor Who would never be made, would never be so good and would never be so well supported". The other nominees for the terrestrial channel award were BBC Two, ITV1, Channel 4 and Five.
